Treadmills and Such

The possibilities are ENDLESS when it comes to excercise equipment. You want to tone? You want to slim down? You want to bulk up? There are sooo many choices.

Treadmills: I really love mine. Some days, lol. When I want to watch a movie, I'll pop one in on the tv in front of my treadmill and enjoy a two hour walk. A great way to get moving and enjoy myself.

Elipticals: Trainers seem to have huge issues with these machines, not liking them. I haven't used one yet with my HRM, but I plan on it, so I can see if it's as "not worth it" as they say. There are people that swear by them for a whole body workout, and they are still around (unlike those belt hip shaky thingys), so there must be somthing good with them.

Bikes: I totally want one of these. But I need one with a wiiiiiiide seat. I hate how biking makes my butt hurt for days. I do love the workout, though.

What's your favourite piece of equipment? Do you own it, or is it at your gym? If you could have a home gym, what pieces would you have?

OOO something I know about!
I have a treadmill (Electronic).. it's OK for getting fit, toning legs, butt etc. Can be boring. I never run.. can't seem to do it! Boobs don't help!
I have an exercycle... it's OK... but I wish now I'd bought a spin bike, they are so much better! The exercycle is good though for a cardio workout, toning legs and butt.
Ellipticals... ROCK! they give you a HUGE cardio workout, and tone your body all over... I wish I had one.
We also have free weights (dumb bells, bar etc).. good too!
The only thing I would add to our home exercise equipment would be the spin bike...

I just re-joined the gym.. cos I like the environment... the motivation you get from working out with other people, etc.
I'm not motivated working out on my own...

I own at least 10 dvds, a set of adjustable dumbbells, an adjustable ankle weight, some other various hand and ankle weight, resistance bands and an exercise mat. These are all things I use on a regular basis.

Others that I own and no longer use: weighted sports hoop.

I think I might opt for a second dumbbell set and a second adjustable ankle weight.

Not very glamorous I know, but that's what I'd get next.

For me? It's deffinately a treadmill! I've owned, and sold, an eliptical. I personally did not enjoy it. It sat in my room, and I used it as a place to hang my towels and clothes on! I think I only used it a handfull of times, and I didn't like it at all. I think it's a matter of personal preference, but I like walking. I love walking outside when the weather is good for it (not too hot and not pissing rain or sleet!) which is why I'd prefer to use a treadmill than an eliptical.
