Booooo to being in shape!!

When one is in good physical shape, apparently one has to work harder. Booooo, I say!!! Booooo!!!!

I did Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred Level 1 (which kicks my ass), only to discover that it burns 137 calories. Um... WHAT??? Did the hrm not hear me say it kicks my ASS??? Hellooooooo.

So then I felt ripped off and did Cardio GoGo. Fun... but it only burns 174 calories.

Magda laughed at me.

She also said that I will probably end up being a runner now that I have a hrm, because she has found with hers that nothing burns more than running. Bang for your buck-wise. She can bike ride for two hours HARD, and burn the same calories in two hours as it takes in forty five minutes of running.

Sigh. Does this mean I have to become a runner??

Stay tuned.

I guess that is why I don't think about calories when I exercise. It bums me out to see how few calories I burn when working out. On the other hand though, if I'm taking care of the calories by eating right, I only need to exercise for the sake of better endurance and strength. *grins*

Yeah, but see the issue is that I like to eat. So I like to eat the calories I burn. Turns out I've been eating more calories than I've been burning.

Back to BOOOOOOOOOOO.

lol, you crack me up, Dee! :) I guess running is it :)
So, what is an hrm? Heart rate monitor is my guess...yes?
What does it do besides tell you what your heart rate is?
Me, I do actually like running/speed walking the best of all exercise so I guess Im ok there, lol...
You can come run with me soon, Im going to be able to breath! haha

Ok, so feeling completely ignorant to this hrm thing, I went and looked it up. First, they are expensive! lol...the Polar F6 is pretty reasonable tho and seems to have many great features, minus the fact that you have to send it back to Polar to have the batterie replaced!
It stores 12 workouts, amazing! These things sound like great toys! I may just have to invest!
What did you end up getting, Dee?

I went with the F7, which has all the features and doodads of the F6, but with the advantage of being able to change your own battery. :)

Now that would bum me out, too. I think I shall remain blissfully ignorant ... :)

Hey Dee, I don't know how to contact you any other way. I have been following you since I saw your story on NM. You are a very big inspiration to me, and I love how honest you are in your blog. I could really use a kick in the butt. I have been doing so crappy on my weight loss goals lately and I was wondering what you do when you lose motivation?

LOL the amount of calories it burns depends on your weight...if you got that number based upon your weight then Booooo!!! That sux if not hey it was more than u thought which is always good!
